We couldn’t be so close to America’s first national park and not stop by. There were a lot of tourists but there was also tons of wildlife visible.
We are trying a new format for the blog so let us know what you think. Click on the first photo and a slide show will start showing the comments on the photos.
So within 15 minutes of getting in to the park we ran into a herd of Elk.
This is Mommy in front of a huge thermal pool called Mammoth Springs.
Here’s a view from the top.
Lots of “Tatonka’s” we found in a field. We saw this herd both days that we drove around.
I got to see Old Faithful do her thing.
Another thermal pool we saw, this place is loaded with them.
There sure are a lot of geysers here!!
A view of “The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone”. Not as big as the real thing but still very impressive.
A view showing the river.
Look its a baby buffalo nursing on a “Teton” (see previous post for clarification) right in the middle of the road.
While at the campsite I met a strapping young lad named Azlan. I was telling him that I play hard to get.
Its me and my boyfriend Azlan playing with another puppy named Lucky. We were having a great time.
Here’s a photo of Mom in front of a landslide that happened in 1959. This landslide was caused by an earthquake that dammed up a river and created Earthquake or “Quake” Lake.
Daddy and I went for a walk down along the river. It was really pretty out there.
Here is a view of Quake lake and you can see all the dead trees that were once there. These trees have been dead since 1959 and are still there, they must not have termites like Florida.
Here’s a view on the other side of the dam of Quake Lake
After all this hiking I am sooooo tired. My puppy and I took a nap.
Great pictures. Looks like an awesome road trip! Love the slide show option!
