After Yellowstone we continued North and stopped by Polson which overlooks a beautiful mountain range with Flathead Lake at its base. The first night we got there we didn’t have a place to stay so we ended up staying at a Walmart. This Walmart had a great view overlooking mountains and a lake. We also met an amazing family with the same RV and that was from Florida in this same parking lot.
After Walmart we stayed at Polson RV Resort and ended up being one of the smaller rigs there. Lots of million dollar RV’s and it was a gorgeous place to stay. Our new friends from Florida ended up staying one row down here and we also met another great couple Steve and Janine who have been on the road for 5 yrs.
While we were sleeping a 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit 70 miles from where we were staying. It actually woke Rhonda up and so we all got a chance to experience it.
The best part of this stop was meeting these two great families. Can’t wait to see both of them back in Florida!!!
This is our first stay in Polson Montana, and yes this is a Walmart parking lot. This was the best Walmart we have stayed at because of the View (see lake and mountains in background) and also because we met an amazing family from West Palm. This family not only was from Florida but they have the same RV as us, and are also a Gator Grad family.
Here’s a photo of Morgan and McKenzie who quickly became my favorite of the new friends we met. And yes I can tell them apart. (Morgan on the Left, I hope I got this right)
Here’s a shot of the mountains surrounding Flathead Lake that we had at our RV site.
Here’s another view. We were one of the smaller rigs at this campground.
Here’s another family photo showing the Flathead river after the dam.
Here’s a view of the dam. We tried to boat here but didn’t make it, that story will be told later.
A great time for a beer.
So what had happened was………our awesome new friends from West Palm brought a boat with them and we all tried to go see the dam we had mentioned earlier. Unfortunately after gassing up we got water in the fuel and had to be pulled in by a nice boater who stopped to help us. Very nice people in Montana. Shout out to Ryan and Preston
Here’s a photo right before our friends left. I am going to miss the twins and Macy very much……
While on a walk around the park we befriended Steve and Janine who showed us around Polson and took us for a ride in their awesome Razor.
Steve even let Daddy take Mommy for a spin. What a great day, Hopefully they will come visit us when they come to Florida and we can show them around St. Pete.
Ahhhh another busy day and time to get some shut eye. I wonder where Daddy is going to sleep? Next stop Glacier National Park.
Love the blog and the pics! Thanks for including us, by the way, you mixed the girls up 😉
