Sapphire, NC

Our first stop on our journey was to visit our friends and see their new house in Sapphire North Carolina.  Mom, Christie and I drove up a week earlier than the boys did. Dad, Stache, Rob and Wally came up in the Motorhome.  While in Sapphire our other friends Abby and Jamie joined us on our adventures taking a boat ride, going on hikes and general debauchery.  The weather was perfect and we all had a blast hanging out.

Winter 2017 – Summer 2019 Recap

We got back to St. Petersburg in December of 2017 and it has been go go go ever since.  It was nice be home and see all of our friends and to make many visits to the Dog Bar.  The humans went on trips to Ecuador, Hawaii and Colorado.  The biggest change to our lives has been the addition of my new brother Stache!  Stache is somewhat related to me, his mother is my Dad’s granddaughter.   I am so excited to have someone else to pester the humans with!!!

St. Petersburg, FL

Our last drive took us seven hours to get back to St. Petersburg.  We can’t believe it has been 7 months, and the trip has gone by soooo fast.  We are so blessed that we had safe travels, met amazing people, and got to spend time with friends and family.  It’s always sad when you get home because the vacation is over, however having all the wonderful friends and family surrounding you makes you glad you’re back.  The best thing about being back is having my own backyard to do my business in again……

Wishing all of our followers a happy and healthy New Years!!!  We hope to make plans with people soon and have our 2018 itinerary up by the spring.

Panama City, FL

From Dallas we drove another couple of days to get to Panama City.  The first day we made it to the Florida boarder, where we spent the night at a rest area, and then we had a quick two hours to get to our site.  We stayed about two miles from the beach and we were very close to family.  We visited with Uncle Jeff and Aunt Sandy.  Jeff was one of the officiants at Mommy and Daddy’s wedding earlier in May.  They stay at a condo on Panama City Beach so we met up with them and took a nice stroll along the beach.  We met up with a large pack of huskies so check out the photos below.

Dallas, TX

We took two days to drive from Tucson to Dallas.  We ended up driving through freezing weather and saw a few flurries.  Luckily the ice never formed on the roads and we made it with no issues.  We only had 4 days in Dallas which was not enough time to spend with all of our friends and family in the area.  During our visit we met up with Friends Trey and Frank.  We were also very fortunate to have Jenny and Jack, Kelly and Dan, Chris and Kelly, and Chris and Candice all open their homes to us and cook us some wonderful food.  The worst part of Dallas was that we didn’t plan enough time to be able to spend with everyone.

We were very bad about taking photos during this stop so we are putting up the few photos we took.  Next year we will plan more time in the area so we are not as rushed.

Tucson, AZ

From San Diego we drove about 8 hours to Tucson.  Once we got into Tucson we setup just northwest of downtown.  The weather was perfect and highs ranged from 60’s to low 80’s.   While in Tucson we met up with many friends, and had a great time.  The humans finally used their golf clubs that they have carried all the way from Florida, through Alaska and down the west coast.  There are many cacti here and you have to keep your eyes open so you don’t hurt yourself.

We took a day trip and drove up to the top of Mount Lemon, where the temperature was 30 degrees cooler than it was in Tucson.  We were lucky to have two great meals with friends.  Catrina and Mario made chilaquiles from scratch then Tommy and Sherry had us over for halibut and risotto.  It was really wonderful having friends open their homes and show us around.

San Diego, CA

After a quick 2 hour drive we found ourselves in San Diego, and even though we traveled south everything was much more lush.  We had some great food here and it reminded us of St. Petersburg but with more mountains.  The weather was wonderful and there were virtually no bugs!!  We also stopped at Ballast Point Brewery and had some amazing beers.  You can get their beers in stores, but its not every day you can have them all on tap.  The last day the humans left me in the RV and went to the San Diego Zoo.

Newport Beach, CA

The drive to Newport Beach took 11 hours from Yosemite with all the Thanksgiving traffic.  Our spot was right off of 101 and close to everything.  Daddy got a chance to see college friends Brock and Deirdre.  We also got a chance to spend Thanksgiving with family.  Big thanks go out to Andrea and David for cooking and opening their home to us for the holiday.  The best thing about this Thanksgiving was all the turkey and scraps I got.  Don’t forget to click on the video at the bottom to hear the wonderful dueling ukulele’s and wonderful vocals by Grandma.

We took a day trip to Joshua Tree National Park and had a great time driving around.  I did however end up poking my eye on something and had to go to the vet.  Luckily some eye drops are helping heal the wound, along with lots of treats….

Yosemite, CA

With Grandma aboard we left for Yosemite and drove through some tight switch backs through the Sierra’s.   Yosemite is a beautiful park with lots of steep granite-faced mountains.   The main day we explored it was overcast with some slight rain, however on the drive out of the park it was sunny and we got some great photos.   We drove out the south park entrance towards L.A. and it had some of the tightest hairpins the RV has ever seen.

Santa Rosa / San Francisco CA

From Lake Tahoe we drove to Santa Rosa and stayed outside Ned and Char’s house.  Santa Rosa is a quaint city just north of Napa and Sonoma.  It is nestled right in the heart of wine country.  We really liked staying with Ned, Char and their pup Stella.   Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the families that were affected by the fires and we hope they recover quickly.

Half way through the stay my grandma joined us and stayed with us all the way to Newport Beach.  I really enjoyed her coming due to the fact that she always brings me new toys and gives me tons of treats.
