From San Diego we drove about 8 hours to Tucson. Once we got into Tucson we setup just northwest of downtown. The weather was perfect and highs ranged from 60’s to low 80’s. While in Tucson we met up with many friends, and had a great time. The humans finally used their golf clubs that they have carried all the way from Florida, through Alaska and down the west coast. There are many cacti here and you have to keep your eyes open so you don’t hurt yourself.
We took a day trip and drove up to the top of Mount Lemon, where the temperature was 30 degrees cooler than it was in Tucson. We were lucky to have two great meals with friends. Catrina and Mario made chilaquiles from scratch then Tommy and Sherry had us over for halibut and risotto. It was really wonderful having friends open their homes and show us around.

We got to Tucson and I got to meet three new friends Pippa, Schatzi and Zoe. Zoe was a little camera shy and escaped the photo.
So in typical human fashion they left me and went drinking.
Enjoying the Tamale Festival.
Mom loves tamales and there was no way we were going to miss out on this.
Good Friends Catrina and Mario made us Chilaquiles from scratch. They were amazing.
Mario showing an example of how its done………these were sooooo good.
The group just before diving in.
Time for some golf. Once again the humans left me at Tommy’s house with my three new friends while they get to go have fun. Notice the saguaro catctus in the back that has been pelted by golf balls.
One of the courses we played had amazing water features on almost every hole. I can only imagine how many gallons of water it takes to run this place.
During the game we had multiple times where we had to watch out for the deer.
Those pesky deer were photo-bombing the humans again.
They thought they owned the course.
After golf time for a wonderful halibut and risotto dinner.
So Tommy and Sherry have an amazing cactus in their back yard. Whoever comes up with the best caption for this photo gets to stay with us for a week next year!!!!
We took a drive to Mt. Lemon and it was amazing how quickly it went from hot with cacti to cooler and pine trees.
Pretty view of the mountains with downtown Tucson in the background.
I decided this was a great spot to give Mommy a hug and kiss.
Daddy standing in front of a huge cholla cactus.
No……….don’t touch it…….
Time for a sonoran hot dog fest……
Mommy showing how its done.
After Tucson we drove for 5 hours and took a little break at this nice rest stop.
