A friend of ours suggested visiting the finger lakes, which we had never heard of before so we decided to check them out. Who knew it was the Napa Valley of the east coast. There were over 50 wineries and breweries along these lakes, most of which were dog friendly. They also had beautiful parks and great hikes.
